Overview:
This is a 40-hour a week, Monday through Friday seasonal employment position based out of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Suncoast Youth Conservation Center in Apollo Beach. This position will work alongside teammates to provide a safe and educational summer camp experience for youth in grades 3-11.
Expectations include leading youth in activities such as paddle sports (kayaking, paddle boarding, etc.), archery, ethical angling, crafts, exploration activities, etc. The position is responsible for leading programs, chaperoning off-site field trips, monitoring camper safety, set up/breakdown for programs, lifeguarding, and providing a positiveguest experienceto campers. Most camp activities take place outdoors in the heat/elements during summer.

Experience:
Experience working with youth and/or leading educational programs is preferred.
Must be at least 20 years of age at the time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be comfortable working in adverse weather conditions such as heat and rain.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Additional Requirements:
Employees are expected to be courteous andrespectfulwhile assisting Commission customers and stakeholders.
Responsible for following the provisions and requirements in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes.
Duties may cross division/office lines as the Commission expects employees to function across FWC’s organizational structure.
