Requirements:
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. Successful completion of all position-specific training and certifications before the first week of June is required. This includes Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR, AED, and other relevant certifications. Includes work on evenings and weekends.
Experience:
A High School Diploma is required.
Candidates with experience working with youth are preferred.
Overview:
This full-time Other Personal Services (OPS) position is based out of the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network (FYCCN). The FWC is seeking a self-motivated, energetic individual to work as part of the Summer Camp Group Leader team at the Everglades Youth Conservation Center (EYCC) in West Palm Beach. The incumbents will supervise campers during daily activities and sleep in the cabins with campers at night.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Instructors with program facilitation (shooting sports, hunter safety, archery, fishing, etc.)
Facilitate night activities (campfire, games, etc.)
Supervise daily summer camp activities
Perform safety inspections of equipment and assigned cabins
Provide a welcoming experience and positive guest service to visitors
Assist with facility operations as required (food service, janitorial cleaning, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be comfortable handling firearms and working in environments with loud noises.
Must haveeffective communicationskills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and swim in deep water.
Additional Notes:
