Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time role responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring smooth coordination across sourcing, inventory, logistics, and customer service functions. Based in Bujumbura in a hybrid arrangement, the role combines on-site presence with some flexibility to work from home. The Operations Manager will monitor supply chain activities, manage vendor and partner relationships, and ensure timely fulfillment of orders for medicines, surgical items, medical equipment, and laboratory products. This role includes analyzing operational data, improving processes, enforcing compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, and supporting technology-driven workflows. The Operations Manager will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, supervise staff where applicable, and contribute to strategic planning and performance reporting.
Qualifications
- Strong operations and process management skills, including workflow optimization, inventory control, and logistics coordination.
- Experience with supply chain management and vendor relationship management, ideally within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or medical supplies.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing both on-site activities in Bujumbura and remote tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in using technology and enterprise systems to track orders, manage data, and generate reports for decision-making.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team coordination, performance monitoring, and support for staff development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of healthcare sourcing practices, regulatory considerations, and quality standards is an advantage.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills relevant to the region are beneficial.
