We’re looking for a passionate Operations Coordinator to lead field teams in protecting Queensland’s rainforests from invasive tropical weeds. In this role, you’ll oversee remote field operations, manage GIS mapping, ensure safety-first culture and engage with stakeholders to support national biosecurity efforts.
Biosecurity Queensland plays a vital role in securing the state’s agricultural prosperity and preserving and protecting the health of our environment and economy. We are dedicated to safeguarding both human and animal health by preventing and mitigating plant and animal pests and diseases. We work tirelessly to uphold a high level of animal welfare standards and maintain access to interstate markets, critical for Queensland’s thriving primary industries. Biosecurity Queensland monitors and regulates the application of agricultural and veterinary chemicals, ensuring they are used safely and in compliance with legislation. With a commitment to developing capabilities and preparedness, we are at the forefront of protecting Queensland against biosecurity risks. Invasive Plants and Animals (IPA) significantly affect the environment, agricultural production, infrastructure, human health and our way of life in general. The IPA program directs, facilitates and delivers strategic and targeted action to reduce the impact of invasive species in Queensland.

✔ Demonstrated technical capability & analytical skills for data driven decision making.
✔ Understanding of biosecurity legislation and compliance.
