Role Description The Office Assistant/Pet Bather is a full-time, on-site role based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Day-to-day responsibilities include answering phones, greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and handling basic administrative and clerical tasks to keep the salon running smoothly. The role also involves bathing and drying pets, brushing and detangling fur, safely handling animals of various sizes and temperaments, and maintaining a clean, sanitary grooming environment. The Office Assistant/Pet Bather supports groomers, prepares pets for grooming services, and ensures a positive, welcoming experience for pets and their owners.
Qualifications
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Administrative assistance and clerical skills for managing appointments, records, and daily office tasks.
- Comfort with office equipment and basic technology used for scheduling and client management.
- Experience or strong interest in working with animals, including safe handling and basic pet care.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods while bathing pets.
- Attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards in both grooming and office areas.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Prior experience in a pet salon, veterinary clinic, or customer service setting is an asset.
Must be available to work 5 days a week including Saturdays.
Depending on experience starting wage would be $17-$19 per hour.
