We are seeking a Technician I – Necropsy to join our Safety Assessment team in Ashland, Ohio. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in laboratory animal science, biology, veterinary medicine, healthcare, agriculture, animal care, or life sciences.
No previous experience is required. We provide comprehensive training to help you develop technical, laboratory, and animal handling skills while working alongside an experienced team in a regulated research environment.
Schedule
- Four 10-hour shifts (4/10 schedule)
- Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday
- 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Weekend and holiday rotation required
- Overtime may be required based on business needs
What You’ll Do
As a Technician I, you will train and develop proficiency in a variety of laboratory and necropsy procedures, including:
- Assisting with animal handling and sedation
- Performing basic dissection and necropsy-related activities
- Collecting biological samples, tissue samples, and weight measurements
- Preparing laboratory work areas, supplies, and solutions
- Receiving, tracking, and preparing study materials and samples
- Accurately documenting data using paper and electronic systems
- Reviewing documentation for quality and compliance
- Operating and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment
- Learning anatomical terminology and study procedures
- Supporting daily laboratory operations and team objectives
- Following all safety, animal welfare, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, or modified schedules when required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established timelines

Physical Requirements
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds
