Role Description The Mobile Groomer is a part-time, on-site role based in Boston, MA. Day-to-day responsibilities include bathing, brushing, trimming, and grooming dogs according to agreed styles and safety guidelines, as well as cleaning and maintaining grooming equipment and workspaces. The Mobile Groomer will travel between client locations or designated service areas, manage appointments, and provide a calm, reassuring experience for dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments. This role involves regular communication with pet guardians to discuss grooming needs, provide updates, and address questions. The Mobile Groomer is expected to follow all health, safety, and animal welfare protocols while delivering consistent, high-quality service.

Qualifications

  • Experience with professional dog grooming techniques, including bathing, brushing, clipping, and nail trimming.
  • Strong animal handling skills and comfort working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, and behavioral needs.
  • Customer service and communication skills to interact effectively and respectfully with pet guardians.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe grooming environment, including equipment care and sanitation practices.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally within Boston, MA for mobile appointments.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move dogs safely, and perform repetitive grooming tasks.
  • Attention to detail and time-management skills for scheduling, record-keeping, and punctual arrival to appointments.
  • Prior experience in pet grooming, veterinary support, or professional animal care is preferred.
  • Commitment to humane, patient, and fear-free handling methods, with a focus on animal well-being.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant grooming certifications are a plus.
