About the role | Mō te tūranga:

We are currently seeking applications for a permanent, full-time qualified Medical Laboratory Technician with a current APC to join our team in the Mt. Wellington Microbiology Department. A Medical Laboratory Technician with microbiology experience is preferred; however, consideration will also be given to training someone with the right skills, preferably with a science background. This position is 80 hours per fortnight. The shift times for this role is 2:00PM – 10:30PM.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.

A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Excellent attention to detail, with good record keeping skills.

The ability to work independently, while in a supported role.

Registration with the Medical Science Council and an Annual Practicing Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Technician is desirable.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
