Role Description The Medical Laboratory Scientist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kasur. This role involves performing routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and pathology to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing specimens, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, monitoring quality control procedures, and validating test results before reporting. The Medical Laboratory Scientist will collaborate with clinicians and other healthcare professionals, follow established safety and infection control protocols, and assist in maintaining laboratory documentation and compliance with regulatory standards. The role also includes participating in continuous training, contributing to process improvement, and supporting the implementation of new testing methodologies as needed.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Medical Technology and Laboratory Medicine skills to perform and interpret a variety of clinical tests.
- Candidates should possess core Laboratory Skills, including specimen handling, instrument operation, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Pathology to support accurate analysis of samples and correlation with clinical conditions.
- Candidates should possess Quality Control skills to ensure reliability, accuracy, and consistency of laboratory results.
- Relevant academic qualification such as a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with relevant professional or regulatory bodies, where applicable.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to follow standardized procedures and technical guidelines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting and familiarity with laboratory information systems are beneficial.
