Compensation and Benefits

Essential Functions
- Oversee and give directives regarding medical standards and quality of care
- Set policies pertaining to the practice of medicine
- Promote integrated service delivery as one team
- Recommend additions to hospital inventory and budget for new equipment with cost estimate and ROI
- See patients and handle clinical practice
- Ensure positive communication with clients and among doctors, including proper transfer of patient care responsibilities
- Review patient records for completeness and accuracy, using them to promote medical excellence
- Review and approve requests for alternatives to additional drugs and medical supplies
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
Administration Duties
- Handle patient care problems, client complaints, and referral partner issues
- Manage veterinary, client, and board complaints and recommend resolutions
- Assist in ensuring compliance with State Veterinary Medical Practice Act, OSHA, and AAHA standards
Leading by Example
- Hold licensure in good standing and maintain all required licenses with timely renewals
- Monitor DVM performance and production, providing coaching when appropriate
- Serve as a mentor and role model for all staff veterinarians
Development of the Practice
- Lead candidate interviews of potential DVMs
- Identify new service opportunities not currently available in the hospital
- Hold ownership for revenue and practice success, monitoring key performance indicators and working with the Hospital Manager to adjust for positive results
- Plan for upcoming challenges in maintaining hospital operations including temporary solutions such as locum
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
Qualifications
Education/
Experience:
- Prior experience in leadership or management preferred
