Role Description The Mechanic role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair on garments and leather manufacturing machinery, as well as heavy equipment used in production. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting inspections, troubleshooting equipment faults, and implementing preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. The mechanic will also install and adjust machinery components, keep accurate maintenance records, and collaborate with supervisors and production teams to ensure safe and efficient operation of all equipment. Adherence to safety standards and timely response to emergency breakdowns are key aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for industrial machinery and equipment.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance programs, including routine inspections and scheduled servicing.
- Hands-on expertise working with Heavy Equipment used in manufacturing or similar environments.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diverse machinery.
- Previous experience as a mechanic or technician in garments, leather goods, or industrial production settings is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and safe handling of tools and equipment.
- Relevant technical diploma, certification, or vocational training in mechanical or industrial maintenance.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.
