What the role is:
The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes and works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the first responder for all animal-related feedback.
It also conducts public
education
and engagement programmes to foster a society where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in our City in Nature.
The Wildlife Management Division in Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) Cluster manages wildlife in Singapore and engages the community on human-wildlife encounters in our City in Nature.
What you will be working on:
We are looking for an eager and passionate individual to join our Wildlife Management and Outreach (Wildlife) team. With a focus on mitigating civet and other wildlife-related encounters, the work scope will range from animal management policy formulations such as population management strategies, direct conflict interventions, applied ecological research, feedback management, database management, and participating in public
education
efforts.
What we are looking for:
Degree in Biological, Environmental Science, Zoology or related field
Advantageous to have relevant working experience in wildlife operations and public interfacing
Demonstrate punctuality and adherence to operational schedules
An organized, creative and resourceful team player who is able to work independently with good interpersonal skills
Strong written and oral
communication skills
Able to multi-task in performing a
diverse
range of duties, including enforcement when required
Enjoy working in an outdoor field environment
Willing to work on weekends and after office hours
