Job Description
Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Maintenance Manager for its Feedmill operations in the Agriculture division. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for effectively manage all available resources to ensure maximum plant and equipment availability for feed production. This position reports to the Senior Production Manager: Feedmill and holds the TASK Grade T13. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree and 8 to 10 years’ experience in managing a maintenance operation in a feedmilling environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and co-ordinate maintenance using techniques such as preventive and predictive maintenance and condition based monitoring.
- Initiate, plan and regularly review maintenance routines and schedules and report on outstanding maintenance schedules.
- Maintain and report on statistical data for maintenance decisions.
- Ensure that buildings are maintained in a good state and comply with building standards.
- Manage maintenance look-ahead planning and review weekly maintenance execution by formulating schedule attainment report and raise the bottleneck on the system.
- Implement strategies to eliminate wastage.
- 100% compliance to the Health & Safety Act.v
- Training, coaching, upgrading and general development of maintenance team.
Qualifications
- Strong Leadership skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Sound technical background.
- Ability to manage and motivate a large team.
- Good planning and organizing skills.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies in the feedmilling environment.
- Good knowledge of MS project.
