Job Summary:
We are looking for experienced Plant & Mechanical Engineers to manage maintenance, installation, commissioning, and reliability of processing and cold-chain equipment across operations in Kenya and Rwanda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical and electrical maintenance of plant, processing and cold-chain equipment.
- Manage installation, commissioning, testing and contractor activities.
- Develop and implement preventive and planned maintenance systems to improve equipment uptime.
- Supervise technicians and contractors and manage daily maintenance activities.
- Manage spare parts, maintenance budgets and external service contractors.
- Ensure compliance with safety, food safety and environmental standards.
- Maintain maintenance records, downtime reports and failure analysis.
Key Requirements:
- 7–15 years of experience in plant, processing or facility maintenance.
- Experience with industrial refrigeration/blast freezers, conveyors, dryers, ventilation, generators, electrical systems, hydraulics and plumbing.
- Food processing, cold chain, feed milling, poultry or similar industry experience preferred.
- HVAC/Refrigeration certification and East African experience will be an advantage.
- Strong team leadership, planning, troubleshooting and communication skills.
