We are seeking an experienced Livestock/Dairy Farming Supervisor/Manager to oversee farm operations, ensuring efficient livestock care, feeding, breeding, and health management. The candidate will be responsible for managing a herd of 400 cows and 200 goats & sheep, maintaining high standards of animal husbandry, and optimizing farm productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily farm operations, ensuring proper care and management of livestock.
Plan and implement feeding schedules, ensuring proper nutrition for cattle, goats, and sheep.
Monitor and manage breeding programs to improve herd quality and productivity.
Supervise animal health management, ensuring timely vaccinations, deworming, and disease control.
Manage farm workers, providing guidance and training on best farming practices.
Maintain accurate records of livestock, feed consumption, breeding cycles, and health status.
Implement cost-effective farm management strategies to improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and farm safety regulations.
Coordinate with veterinarians and suppliers for medical care, feed, and farm supplies.
Prepare periodic reports on livestock performance, health, and farm operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: B.Sc in Agriculture/Dairy Technology or Diploma in Veterinary & Animal Husbandry.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in livestock or dairy farming, with hands-on experience in animal care, breeding, and health management.
Strong knowledge of livestock nutrition, disease control, and farm management practices.
Ability to lead and supervise farm workers effectively.
Proficiency in farm management software and record-keeping.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in managing dairy or livestock farms.
Knowledge of sustainable and modern farming practices.
Ability to analyze farm performance and implement improvements.
Understanding of local farming regulations and best practices.
