We are a woman-owned, growing integrative general practice veterinary clinic located on Johns Island, South Carolina, with unique opportunities for learning new modalities. We use a common sense approuch utilizing traditional and alternative medicine. We are seeking a skilled, responsible, and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician for full or part-time hours. You must be willing to work some weekends. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and veterinary medicine.
Qualifications:
- Veterinary experience
- Veterinary technician experience
- Animal care, handling, and restraint
- IV catheterization placement
- Specimen collection and diagnostics
- Surgical prep and monitoring
- Medication administration
- Veterinary critical care experience
- Communication skills
- Management skills
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and microbiology
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery, monitor, and record their vital signs during procedures
- Perform dental scaling, cleanings, and dental radiographs
- Provide general and supportive care for patients
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Assist with animal handling and restraint
- Maintain the cleanliness of the clinic
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions or concerns
- Work as part of a team and communicate openly
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and animal physiology
