Location: West Lebanon
Blue Pearl Pet Hospital located in Midtown, Manhattan, is hiring experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work in our Cardiology department.
Schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday at our Queens location and Thursday and Friday in our Midtown location from 8:30am to 6:30pm.
This position is eligible for qualified candidates with a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.
Pay: $28.00 – $51.00 / hour
* This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the Career Trax leveling system. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.*
We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends.
* Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.*
Examples include:
Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $6.00 Shift Differential
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential
At Blue Pearl Emergency + Specialty Pet Hospital, the role of Veterinary Technician is a fast-paced and exciting opportunity that allows you to utilize and expand your skills, working alongside talented veterinary professionals.
As a Cardiology Technician, you will:
Start appointments and take full patient histories, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
Perform digital radiography using proper technique and patient positioning.
Understand normal ranges of vital signs and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes.
Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
Calculate medical math, including infusion rates, and administer medications appropriately.
Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, using monitoring equipment.
Mentor and train colleagues.
Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
