Licensed Veterinary Technician (RVT/LVT)
Badger Creek Vet Clinic is seeking a skilled, dependable, and compassionate Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in excellent patient care, communicates well with clients and coworkers, and enjoys being an important part of a busy veterinary practice.
Position Responsibilities
The Licensed Veterinary Technician will work closely with our veterinarians and support staff in all aspects of patient care. Responsibilities may include:
- Performing patient triage and obtaining thorough histories
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Collecting and preparing blood, urine, fecal, and cytology samples
- Performing in-house laboratory testing
- Preparing and administering medications, injections, and treatments as directed by a veterinarian
- Monitoring hospitalized patients and maintaining accurate treatment records
- Preparing patients for surgical and dental procedures
- Inducing and monitoring anesthesia
- Monitoring patient recovery following anesthesia and surgery
- Performing dental prophylaxis and obtaining dental radiographs
- Taking diagnostic radiographs
- Maintaining accurate and complete medical records
- Providing client education regarding medications, treatments, nutrition, preventive care, and discharge instructions
- Maintaining controlled drug, pharmacy, laboratory, and treatment-area standards
- Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical and medical equipment
- Assisting veterinarians with examinations, procedures, emergencies, and hospitalized cases
- Working collaboratively with veterinary assistants, receptionists, technicians, and veterinarians
Qualifications
Required:
- Current California RVT license in good standing
- Strong technical and patient-handling skills
- Ability to safely restrain dogs and cats
- Knowledge of veterinary anesthesia, pharmacology, laboratory procedures, and patient care
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a busy clinical environment
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a busy veterinary hospital
- Strong anesthesia and surgical monitoring skills
- Dental radiography and dentistry experience
- Emergency and critical-care experience
- Large-animal or mixed-animal experience is a plus

Schedule
This position is full time. Our regular clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Specific scheduling and any after-hours or weekend responsibilities will be discussed during the interview.
Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
