General Description:
This position will support and work closely with the instructors, students and other personnel in the veterinary technology department.
Duties and Tasks:
Assist instructors with on-campus, on-line, and field trip lab set-up and break-down
Assist in supervising students with their lab skills during labs, extracurricular activities, and patient care shifts
Provide husbandry and nursing care to animals, train animal caretakers
Maintain facility equipment and keep lab rooms orderly
Assist in ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies, equipment and inventory.
Maintain medical records for animals
Assist with admitting and discharging shelter patients
Assist with AVMA accrediations
Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA, VCCS, AVMA, USDA, DEA, and VA Board of Veterinary Medicine
Attend events related to the Vet Tech Program
Assist with any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
Licensed Veterinary Technician with valid/active Virginia license
Clinical experience

Professional licensing as a credentialed technician from a different state and eligible to obtain a VA state license as a Licensed Veterinary Technician within 30 days of hire
Experience maintaining inventory and/or purchasing.
