Qualifications:
-Current and valid licensure as a Veterinary Technician.
-Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program.
-Proficient in the use of veterinary software for patient records and communication.
-Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Responsibilities:
– Assist veterinarians in providing medical care for animals
– Perform animal restraint during examinations and procedures
– Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
– Monitor and record vital signs of animals
– Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
– Assist with surgical procedures, including prepping animals, monitoring anesthesia, and providing post-operative care
– Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of veterinary clinic or hospital
Skills:
– Strong knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy
– Proficient in veterinary critical care techniques
– Excellent animal handling skills, including the ability to safely restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
– Knowledge of animal care practices, including grooming, feeding, and exercise requirements
– Familiarity with common veterinary procedures and treatments
– Ability to operate and maintain veterinary equipment and instruments
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary team members
Preferred Qualifications
– Specialized certifications or additional training in areas such as dentistry, anesthesia, or emergency care.
– Experience with digital radiography and other advanced diagnostic equipment.
– Knowledge of animal husbandry practices
