Duties
- Assist veterinarians with medical examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures including X-ray imaging and laboratory testing
- Perform animal restraint and handling techniques to ensure safety during examinations and treatments
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following aseptic techniques and veterinary protocols
- Maintain accurate records of animal physiology, anatomy, and medical histories in compliance with veterinary terminology standards
- Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with animal dental care and surgery
- Handle laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and analysis to aid in diagnostics
- Manage animal catheterization and other critical care procedures for hospitalized patients
- Communicate to pet parents proper discharge instructions for their pets after medical procedures
Requirements
- Valid license as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent credential from an accredited program
- Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal physiology
- Kennel experience and familiarity with dog handling are highly preferred
- Experience in veterinary critical care settings and laboratory work is advantageous
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively regarding domestic house hold pets such as dogs and cats
- Strong communication skills to educate clients on pet care, pet grooming, and health maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
