Full Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling and monitoring anesthesia with the ability to provide excellent support in a veterinary setting. This role involves working closely with veterinarians to ensure the health and well-being of animals, assisting in various surgical procedures, dental procedures and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Provide proper animal restraint during examinations and treatments to ensure safety for both staff and animals.
Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes to the veterinarian.
Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
Ensure cleanliness of the clinic, including kennel areas, examination rooms, and surgical suites.
Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and training techniques.
Participate in dog training sessions as needed.
Stay current with veterinary practices and procedures through continuing education.
Qualifications
Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred.
Experience in veterinary critical care or laboratory settings is a plus.
Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology.
Proven skills in animal handling and restraint techniques.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
