Role Description: The Liaison Officer represents Yegara Space in all external government, legal, and administrative dealings, signing agreements at government offices on the company’s behalf, keeping Yegara Space’s own legal and regulatory standing current, and supporting members through business registration and license processes, so that government and legal matters are handled efficiently instead of becoming a bottleneck for the business or its members.
Key Responsibities:
- Represent Yegara Space at government offices, signing and processing agreements and documents on the company’s behalf as formally authorized.
- Support members with business registration and licence processes, where included in their membership plan, acting as a facilitator rather than their legal representative.
- Track, renew, and maintain all of Yegara Space’s own legal, regulatory, and licensing documents such as business licence, registration, certificates, tin numbers…etc ahead of expiry in coordination with the senior accountant and general manager.
- Manage filing and documentation for legal and government matters so records are complete, organized, and audit-ready at all times.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on anything that goes beyond routine administrative liaison work.
- Handle other outside-facing administrative tasks on behalf of the business such as notary services, bank documentation, municipal offices, utility providers, and similar errands.
- Proactively flag upcoming regulatory deadlines, compliance risks, or documentation gaps to the General Manager before they become urgent.
- Build and maintain reliable working relationships with relevant government office contacts to keep recurring processes efficient.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Prior experience liaising with Ethiopian government offices (trade licensing, tax authorities, municipal offices) strongly preferred.
- Working familiarity with Ethiopian business registration, licensing, and regulatory processes.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to documentation and deadlines.
- Trustworthy and comfortable being formally authorized to sign and represent the company externally.
- Good communication and relationship-building skills with government officials and institutions.
- Willingness and means to travel between offices as needed during the working day.
- Language proficiency in Amharic and English.
