Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Legal and Compliance Specialist based in Jamaica. The Legal and Compliance Specialist will support the implementation and monitoring of compliance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with local laws, global regulations, and internal standards. Responsibilities include reviewing contracts, legal documents, and business practices, identifying compliance risks, and recommending mitigation strategies. The role involves conducting or coordinating compliance trainings, maintaining records, and assisting in internal investigations or audits. The specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, prepare reports for management, and support interactions with regulators and external partners as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and corporate governance.
- Experience in compliance program management, policy drafting, monitoring, and risk assessment.
- Ability to review and interpret contracts, legal documents, and regulatory guidance with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in preparing clear reports, documentation, and compliance-related communications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to high ethical standards and confidentiality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Compliance, or a related field; professional certification in compliance or corporate governance is an advantage.
