We are seeking an experienced, friendly, organized, and dependable leader to supporting a busy veterinary team and helping create a positive experience for pets and their owners. This role is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills, veterinary reception experience, and the ability to lead by example.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee process of patient admissions and discharges
  • Ensure that hospital flow is efficient and effective
  • Collaborate closely with Lead Veterinary Technician, Hospital Manager, and Medical Director to determine opportunities for operational improvements
  • Train all new reception Team Members
  • Maintain strong understanding of veterinary products and medications, including prescription medications, veterinary diets, over-the-counter medications, and supplements
  • Work with Marketing Team and Hospital Manager to review and respond to client concerns
  • Checking patients in, discharging patients, invoicing
  • Provide customer service such as greeting customers, answering questions, processing incoming patients, and handling payments
  • Answer phone calls which may include answering questions, scheduling appointments, and recording messages for doctors and staff
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email
  • Update and file patient charts
  • Enter data into computerize billing program
  • Retrieve prescriptions
  • Assist with pet supply purchases such as food, supplements, and grooming items
  • Maintain the cleanliness of waiting room
  • Retail sales
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or relevant education and work experience
  • Experience in the veterinary field
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
