Davies Animal Hospital is a privately owned, community-focused practice that has been serving Yuba City for more than 35 years. We’re looking for an experienced Urgent Care Lead Veterinarian to help grow and lead our urgent care service within our large, collaborative hospital.
You’ll have the autonomy to make an impact, the resources to practice high-quality medicine, and a team around you that actually lets you focus on being a veterinarian.

Advanced Medicine + Serious Support
You’ll work in a brand-new, 16-exam-room, state-of-the-art facility equipped to handle everything from routine cases to complex urgent and emergency medicine.

- 16 exam rooms
- 2 surgical suites

And perhaps most importantly, you’ll have a 6:1 staff-to-doctor ratio, giving you the support you need to practice medicine rather than spend your day buried in paperwork.
A Schedule That Gives You Your Life Back
We believe being a great veterinarian shouldn’t require working your life away.
4 × 10-hour shifts | 10 AM–8 PM or 8AM – 6PM
You’ll work on a two-week rotating schedule designed to maximize your time off, while still providing consistent urgent care coverage.
Your support team handles much of the administrative workload so you can concentrate on patients, clients, and medicine.

- Base Salary: $175,000–$225,000+ DOE
- $300K+ earnings on production

For more than 35 years, Davies Animal Medical Hospital has been part of the Yuba City community. We’re a privately owned, non-corporate practice with: 10 doctors + 60+ team members. Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced veterinarian who is ready to lead.
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have a DVM/VMD and CA License.
- Have strong urgent care or emergency medicine experience
- Are comfortable managing a fast-paced, diverse caseload
- Enjoy surgery and are willing to jump in when the team needs you
- Have an interest in mentoring and developing other veterinarians
- Communicate confidently with clients and team members
- Believe in high-quality, compassionate medicine

Pay: $175,000.00 – $300,000.00 per year
