Position: Landscape Maintenance & Grass Cutting- Starting at $16.00 per hour
Location: Darien Center
Job Summary:
The Landscaper performs daily technical functions within the Landscaping department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the outside landscape company in maintaining the park, work on concrete repairs, and water treatment.
Help with irrigation problems, tree trimming, and concrete repairs.
Dig holes, trenches, footings, etc., using shovels, jackhammers, electric shovels, backhoes, bobcats, and picks.
Skills and
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of machinery components and operation.
Experience with chemicals (chlorine/muriatic acid) and irrigation controllers.
Valid Driver’s License and High School Diploma or GED.
Basic set of hand tools.
Ability to work various shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Physical ability to climb, crawl, and lift from heights on ride structures.
Vocational or technical trade certifications preferred.
Ability to keep accurate records, blueprints, diagrams, and maps.
Experience in water treatment processes and proper chemical use for maintaining pH and chlorine levels.
Experience with filtration pumps, sand filters, cartridge filters, cleaning, and repair.
Qualifiers:
Level 1:
Applies general skills and some experience to basic landscape tasks.
Level 2:
Applies skills and knowledge to softscape.
Level 3:
Applies expert knowledge and skills to hardscape.
Other Functions:
Performs other duties as assigned to support the park. Management reserves the right to modify duties based on circumstances.
