Role: Provide and document husbandry care for laboratory rodents, ensuring compliance with SOPs and animal welfare regulations.
Responsibilities: Feed, water, clean cages, and maintain rodent colonies; sanitize animal rooms; monitor animal health and behavior; keep accurate records; perform routine cleaning and disinfection; report illnesses or deaths promptly; and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in animal care within 6 months; preferred associate degree and ALAT certification; no prior work experience required. Must complete safety training and work in environments with chemicals, noise, dust, and animals; physical effort includes standing, bending, lifting (30+ lbs), and repetitive movements.
Skills: Knowledge of SOPs, documentation, and basic animal care. Must demonstrate motivation, attention to safety, and adherence to protocols. Valid driver’s license not required.
Additional Info: Rotating weekends and holidays; salary range $16.27–$20.83/hour; comprehensive benefits including health, retirement, and family leave.
