Job Description / Responsibility
Job Summary:
The Lab Trainee Officer assists with veterinary diagnostic work in farms and hatcheries across Bangladesh. Duties include sample collection, disease monitoring, post-mortem support, and routine lab tests (serology, microbiology, pathology, and molecular diagnostics). The role also ensures SOP compliance, biosafety, waste management, accurate record keeping, QA/QC, and field visits for flock health monitoring. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to travel frequently are required.
Job Responsibilities
- Collect samples from breeder farms, commercial broiler and layer farms, hatcheries, and agro projects.
- Perform regular post-mortem examinations in breeder farms, hatcheries, broiler integration projects, and commercial layer projects.
- Conduct laboratory tests efficiently such as Microbiological culture, microscopic examination, HI, ELISA, Mycotoxin, and PCR according to SOP and develop new test protocols when required.
- Perform DOC quality monitoring at hatchery, hatchery vaccination monitoring, hygiene sanitation follow up
- Visit breeder farms regularly for bird health monitoring and diseases investigation and observe effects of different risk factors on farm productivity.
- Collect biological samples including blood, serum, organs, swabs, feed, water, litter, etc. Maintain and follow up laboratory biosafety and biosecurity strictly.
- Supervise laboratory washing, cleaning, disinfection and waste management activities properly.
- Ensure QAQC during laboratory testing and related activities.
- Maintain laboratory store management and record-keeping.
- Ensure discipline and maintain good laboratory practices (GLP) before, during, and after work.
Educational Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
- Candidates having MS in Microbiology or Pathology will get preference.
- Skills Required: Microsoft Office, Communication and interpersonal skill, Strong analytical and problem solving skills., Coordination and Writing Skills
Experience Requirements
- 1 to 2 year(s)
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)
Additional Requirements
- Experienced candidates in the relevant field will be given preference.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and travel frequently to project sites.
- Ability to drive motorcycle would be considered an extra quality
