Job Description
Reporting Structure: The Kennel Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Hotel Kennel Lead team member or Practice Manager who will indicate general assignments, limitations, and priorities. Practitioners/animal health technicians provide specific instructions in giving medications, feeding specific diets, or following special sanitary procedures. Recurring assignments are performed independently. Deviations or unfamiliar situations are referred to the Team leader or Practice Manager.

Education and Experience
- Animal Experience Preferred
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Be on time and stay late when needed
- Feed, water, and walk all pet hotel guests
- Always be willing to help other team members and departments
- Be able to lift pets under 50lbs 10 times every day
- Be able to bend, lift, kneel and for extended periods of time
- Work with fecal matter, urine, blood, and cleaning chemicals
- Clean cages and runs in boarding area as needed
- Bathe pets
- Communicate with the clients on status of boarding patients
- Wash, dry and put away dishes
- Sweep and mop all areas of the kennel
- Check and clean bathroom throughout the day
- Empty the garbage and recycling throughout the day
- Launder all towels and bedding from kennel
- Perform daily & weekly tasks duties as scheduled
- Report medical issues of boarding patients to a doctor
- Ensure the safety of clients, pets and their colleagues
- Obey all clinic policies and procedures as well as under their responsibilities under OSHA and other regulatory agencies
