Job Summary
Are you passionate about dogs and dreaming of a career in dog training? The Dog Wizard Highlands Ranch is seeking a Kennel Technician & Dog Training Apprentice to join our growing team. This is not just a kennel tech job—it’s the perfect starting point for someone eager to learn and grow into a full-time professional dog trainer. You’ll support the daily operations of our training facility while gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of our Head Trainer.
This role is ideal for someone who is hardworking, reliable, comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and ultimately wants to build a long-term career in dog training.
Responsibilities
Answer incoming calls and provide friendly, accurate information about our training programs
Follow up with leads and help convert inquiries into evaluations and bookings
Schedule training appointments, evaluations, and private lessons
Assist with daily communication between clients, trainers, and the office team
Collect and organize client paperwork and ensure training files are complete
Handle invoicing, process payments, and maintain timely records
Manage our social media accounts with daily photo/video content and captions
Assist with dog care responsibilities including feeding, potty breaks, kennel cleaning, and basic enrichment
Represent The Dog Wizard at local events and identify grassroots marketing opportunities
Observe and support training sessions, learning from our Head Trainer with the goal of developing into a full-time dog trainer

Schedule & Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday with occasional weekends
Starting Pay: $12/hr during training, $16/hr once fully operational
Future Opportunity: For the right candidate, this role is designed to transition into a full-time Dog Trainer position once core handling and training competencies are demonstrated.
