Full Job Description
Mountain State K9 Academy is a facility offering boarding, training, and daycare to dogs. We are seeking applicants with immediate availability for the roles of kennel technician and daycare attendant.
The quality of care we provide for our canine guests starts with our outstanding team of kennel technicians. Our highest priority is to provide a safe, clean environment for each of our guests and we expect our kennel technicians to take pride in the care they provide! A good candidate for this role will be self-motivated, have strong attention to detail, is eager to work around dogs, and is a team player. This is a physically demanding position that involves outdoor work in all weather conditions. This position deals with live animals – things can get messy and you will likely be exposed to animal excretions on a daily basis.
The position of daycare attendant is responsible for overseeing our play groups and personal plays for an 8-hour period. This is a hands-on role that requires a certain level of comfort playing with dogs of varying temperaments in all weather conditions. We pride ourselves on creating a safe environment for both the attendants and our canine guests during playtime. A good candidate for this position is highly reliable, has excellent communication skills, and most importantly, enjoys providing enrichment for dogs!
We are open year round, including on weekends and holidays. Weekend and holiday availability is required and non-negotiable for this position.
Specific responsibilities of kennel technicians include, but are not limited to:
Providing a comfortable, clean environment for boarding and daycare guests
Daily cleaning and sanitizing of dogs’ indoor and outdoor kennels
Monitoring for any accidents and spot cleaning throughout the shift
Constantly monitoring dogs for any changes to health status and report to managers accordingly
Prepare and administer meals to dogs
Cleaning dishes, running laundry, and completing regular cleaning tasks within the facility
Replenishing water bowls throughout the day to provide constant access to fresh water
Bathing dogs as necessary or requested by owners
Communicating internally with team members regarding guests and procedures
Specific responsibilities of daycamp attendants include, but are not limited to:
Fostering a safe environment for dogs to play in small and large groups or individually
Organize dogs into play groups based on temperament and play style
Exhibiting appropriate animal handling behavior at all times
Maintaining the cleanliness of the play yard during and after play time
Creating report cards for daycamp attendees to provide for owners
Assisting the front office with client communication and helping to check dogs in and out as they arrive and depart
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.81 – $15.81 per hour
