Kennel / Technician Assistant
Are you a people person and love animals. Royse City Veterinary Hospital is a rapidly growing family owned practice that is looking to hire a Kennel/Veterinary Assistant. We are a full service veterinary hospital offering caring, friendly, kind and knowledgeable services with the goal of helping client’s pets live long, happy and healthy lives. Candidate needs to be highly motivated, a self starter, pays attention to detail and be able to multitask.
Responsibilities: Care of animals, which includes walking, feeding, medicating and monitoring boarding and hospitalized animals. Assists doctors, technicians, and other personnel with the administration of medications or with restraint, gives baths (ordinary and medicated) and necessary grooming, recognizes and records any unusual condition or abnormal behavior of any animal in the hospital, observes animal recovering from anesthesia, feeds animals as prescribed by the attending veterinarian and records appetite and drinking behavior, receives and releases animals and their belongings, responsible for the general cleanliness of the hospital, kennel and outside areas.
