Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals, ensuring their health and comfort while maintaining cleanliness in the facility.
Duties
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising pets.
Clean and maintain kennels, ensuring a hygienic environment for all animals.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist with grooming tasks as needed to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of pets.
Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and care.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their animals’ needs.
Other duties include, bathing dogs, walking dogs, cleaning up yards, laundry, dishes, keeping the lobby in good condition for Pet Parents to be comfortable dropping off.
Must be able to learn the office, checking in and out dogs, maintaining a good relationship and attitude with clients to provide a welcoming experience.
Experience
Previous experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred but not required.
Skills in pet sitting, grooming, or dog training are highly desirable.
Familiarity with veterinary practices or education in the field is a plus.
Strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or moving equipment.
Work well in the heat, as it is an inside/outside job while letting the dogs outside and playing/walking them.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
