Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, a strong commitment to providing high-quality service to pets and their owners, experience answering phones and sending emails. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in our facility, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Duties
Provide daily care for animals including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the ownership.
Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by regularly cleaning enclosures, play areas, and common spaces.
Assist with bathing and grooming pets as needed.
Handle animals safely and effectively during their stay at the facility.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and behaviors.
Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping and scheduling appointments.
Qualifications
Previous experience in kennel or veterinary settings is required.
Strong knowledge of animal care practices including vaccine protocols, administering medications, handling, feeding, and grooming.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and coworkers.
Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare is essential.
Certification in pet first aid or CPR is a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
