Duties
- Safely handle and supervise dogs during playtime, feeding, cleaning, and rest periods to promote healthy behavior and well-being
- Assist with pet boarding by providing attentive care, monitoring animal health, and ensuring proper feeding routines
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, grooming stations, and common spaces through thorough sanitization and organization
- Observe animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or illness and report concerns promptly to veterinary staff or management
- Support pet grooming activities such as brushing or bathing as needed to keep animals comfortable and clean
- Assist with outdoor activities including walks or supervised play in secure outdoor spaces to promote exercise and enrichment
- Follow safety protocols for animal restraint, heavy lifting (such as moving large kennels), and team lifting procedures to ensure a safe environment for all staff and animals
Skills
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician background is highly valued for understanding animal health needs
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or animal handling enhances your ability to connect with pets effectively
- Strong customer service skills to communicate confidently with pet owners and address their questions or concerns
- Ability to perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of pet care facilities in accordance with health standards
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques and animal behavior helps ensure animals are comfortable and well-cared-for
- Physical stamina for outdoor work, heavy lifting, team lifting, and standing for extended periods during busy shifts
- Excellent animal restraint skills combined with patience and compassion for diverse pet temperaments
