Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. Your primary focus will be on providing a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for pets while assisting with their daily needs. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animal care and have experience in handling various types of animals.
Duties
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
Ensure that all animals receive proper socialization and attention throughout the day.
Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff.
Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and observations.
Support pet owners by providing information on pet care practices.
Skills
Experience in veterinary settings or as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred.
Strong animal handling skills with a focus on safety and comfort for both pets and staff.
Knowledge of kennel operations and pet care best practices.
Ability to perform animal restraint techniques safely and effectively.
Familiarity with pet grooming practices is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and team members.
A compassionate attitude towards animals and a commitment to their welfare.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
