Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and detail-oriented Kennel Technicians to join our new team at Wags & Wiggles, Paw-sitting Ranch. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care for animals in our facility, ensuring their health, safety, and comfort. This role involves hands-on animal care, facility maintenance, and communication with pet owners.
Key Responsibilities:
Feed, water, and monitor the dietary needs of animals according to schedules and specific requirements.
Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Provide exercise, socialization, and enrichment activities for animals as needed.
Monitor animals’ behavior and health, reporting any changes or concerns to supervisors or veterinary staff.
Administer medications or basic treatments as directed by a veterinarian.
Assist with bathing, and general upkeep of animals.
Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior.
Assist in intake and discharge of animals, including proper documentation and interaction with owners.
Ensure supplies such as food, cleaning products, and medications are stocked and organized.
Follow safety protocols for handling animals, including aggressive or anxious pets.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Experience in animal care or related field (preferred but not required).
Ability to handle animals of various sizes, temperaments, and needs.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
Work Environment:
Requires working with cleaning chemicals, animal waste, and loud environments.
Will involve weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts depending on facility needs.
We have full time hour work, part-time and temporary positions available.
