Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support for our furry friends. This position requires a love for animals and the ability to handle them with care and patience.
Duties:
– Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and exercising
– Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas
– Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
– Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the team
– Opportunities to assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
– Provide basic training and socialization for dogs
– Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
– Must be comfortable performing routine cleaning and sanitation tasks, including the handling and disposal of bodily fluids and waste
Qualifications:
– Previous experience in pet care, animal handling, or related field is preferred
– Knowledge of basic pet grooming techniques is a plus but not required
– Familiarity with veterinary procedures and terminology is beneficial but not needed
– Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments with patience and compassion
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and staff
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
– Must be 18 or older
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour
