Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for pets. This role involves daily interaction with animals, ensuring their well-being, and maintaining cleanliness in the kennel facilities. The Kennel Technician will also assist with customer service, providing pet owners with updates and information about their pets.
Duties
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to staff or management.
Assist with dog handling during playtime.
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and behaviors.
Support staff as needed, including assisting with basic animal care tasks.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both animals and staff.
Qualifications
Previous experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of pet grooming techniques is a plus.
Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
Basic knowledge on using a computer and printer.
Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely.
Familiarity with kennel operations or dog training techniques is advantageous.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential.
