Part-Time Kennel Technician – Ranch Animal Hospital
Location: 11105 CORRIDOR PLACE BRADENTON, FL 34211
Pay Rate: $16-17/hr
Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday’s
Key Responsibilities
As a Kennel Technician, you’ll play a vital role in the care and well-being of our patients, ensuring that they are comfortable, safe, and well cared for during their stay. Your responsibilities will include:
Animal Care: Provide hands-on care to boarding pets, including feeding, cleaning, exercise, and administering medications as needed.
Facility Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kennel area, ensuring all spaces are sanitary and safe for pets.
Monitoring Health: Observe the animals for any signs of illness or distress and report to the veterinary team if necessary.
Customer Service: Assist with greeting pet owners and providing updates on their pets’ well-being during their stay.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with veterinary staff and other kennel technicians to ensure the best possible care for all animals.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Previous experience in a kennel, animal care facility, or veterinary hospital is preferred.
Comfortable handling and caring for a variety of animals, including dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
Reliability and punctuality, with a flexible attitude to adapt to different needs in the clinic.
Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
Prior experience working in animal care or veterinary settings.
Ability to handle and care for animals with compassion and patience.
Basic knowledge of animal behavior and health.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail, especially when following protocols for animal care and hygiene.
