Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to handle various breeds and sizes of pets. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for the animals in our care. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for providing daily care, monitoring the health and well-being of the animals, and ensuring that all kennel operations run smoothly.
Duties
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising pets.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and play areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist with basic grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing pets.
Handle heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning supplies as needed.
Support pet owners with information regarding their pets’ needs and behaviors.
Assist in training programs for dogs when required.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both animals and staff.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or skills in the following areas:
Animal handling: Comfortably interact with various breeds and sizes of animals.
Pet care: Knowledgeable about pet general care practices.
Animal care: Experience in monitoring animal health and behavior.
Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and move equipment or animals as necessary.
Pet sitting or kennel experience: Background in caring for pets in a kennel or home environment is preferred.
