Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing support in a busy kennel environment. This role involves ensuring the safety, health, and comfort of animals while assisting with daily operations. The Kennel Assistant will work closely with veterinary staff and other team members to maintain a clean and organized facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and walking.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other facilities to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist in animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
- Familiarize oneself with veterinary terminology to effectively communicate with staff and clients.
- Help with record keeping related to animal care and client information.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of animal anatomy and care techniques.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kennel or veterinary clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and basic veterinary terminology is beneficial.
- Ability to handle various types of animals safely and compassionately.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
- A commitment to providing high-quality pet care and ensuring animal welfare.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays as needed.
