Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the skills necessary to provide a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in our facility, ensuring their health and well-being while providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to staff.
Interact with pet owners, providing updates on their pets and addressing any questions or concerns.
Assist in administering medications as directed by staff.
Perform heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning supplies as necessary.
Skills
Experience is preferred but not required.
Strong animal handling skills, with an emphasis on dog handling techniques.
Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
Knowledge of animal care practices and kennel operations.
Familiarity with dog training methods is a plus.
Physical capability for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
