Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for dogs and other pets. This role involves daily interaction with animals, ensuring their health and well-being while also delivering excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area by performing regular cleaning and sanitizing tasks.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
Assist with dog handling during playtime and training sessions, ensuring safety for all pets involved.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and well-being.
Support veterinary technicians with basic animal care tasks as needed.
Assist in heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning supplies.
Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and any observations made during shifts.
Qualifications
Experience in customer service is preferred to ensure positive interactions with pet owners.
Previous experience in dog handling or working in a kennel environment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with veterinary assistant or veterinary technician duties is a plus.
Strong animal handling skills, particularly with dogs of various breeds and temperaments.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for animal care tasks.
Knowledge of dog training techniques is beneficial but not mandatory.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Pay: $15.05 – $16.00 per hour
