Full Job Description
The Dog Kennel Technician is responsible for the daily care and well-being of all day care and boarding dogs. This includes feeding, cleaning, monitoring animal health, and providing exercise and enrichment. The technician ensures a clean, safe, and compassionate environment for all animals under their care.
Responsibilities:
Feed and provide fresh water to dogs on a scheduled basis
Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, and common areas daily
Monitor dogs for signs of illness, stress, or behavioral issues and report concerns
Administer basic medications or treatments under supervision (if required)
Walk, exercise, and engage in enrichment activities with dogs
Assist with intake and release of animals, including documentation and basic grooming
Maintain accurate records of care, feeding, and health observations
Follow all safety and animal handling protocols
Communicate professionally with team members and pet owners
Assist with laundry, inventory management, and general upkeep of the facilit
Qualifications:
Experience working with animals (preferred but not required)
Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
Dependable, punctual, and able to work weekends or holidays as needed
Reliable transportation.
