Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. You will work closely with a variety of pets, ensuring they are healthy, safe, and comfortable during their stay. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong skills in animal handling and customer service.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and play areas to ensure a safe environment.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
Assist with administering medications.
Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets’ well-being and address any questions or concerns.
Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving animals or cleaning supplies.
Experience
Previous experience in animal care or handling is required.
Familiarity with kennel operations or veterinary assistance is a plus.
Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
Ability to perform animal restraint safely when required.
Physical capability to engage in heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
