Duties
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercise, and administering medication as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough sanitization and grooming
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their safety and comfort
- Assist with activities, exercise and promote healthy physical activity
- Monitor animal behavior to identify signs of stress or illness and communicate observations to staff
- Support pet grooming services such as bathing and brushing.
- Ensure highest facility sanitation standards are met by cleaning equipment, bedding, and common areas regularly
Requirements
- Prior kennel/training experience or background as a technician or assistant is highly desirable
- Experience in dog training, or kennel work demonstrating animal handling skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving animals or supplies safely
- Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Outdoor work experience a must for handling dogs during outdoor activities or walks
- Knowledge of pet grooming, sanitation practices, and animal care standards is a plus
