Kennel Technician Jobs in Richmond, TX at Preppy Pet Richmond
Daily work includes but is not limited to opening and or closing, cleaning, sanitizing dog kennels, supervising dogs during their playtimes, feeding, etc.
Experience in the field is a bonus but we are also willing to train new applicants to fill our position.
We are looking for motivated individuals with their own transportation and a strong work ethic. We need candidates who look for solutions rather than giving excuses. Someone not afraid to get their hands dirty.
Shifts are typically 6-8 hour shifts but can be longer during holiday and peak season. Must be able to work weekends, and holidays if you can not work weekends or holidays do not apply. Morning shift are from 6:20 am -1:00pm afternoon shifts are from 1:00 pm to 7:00 Saturday and Sunday Shifts are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cleaning and maintenance of pet suites, condos, general boarding areas, and kitchen
Feeding and watering pet guests
Monitoring pet belonging
Monitoring for any abnormalities
Laundering duties
Administering meds
Treating guests, co-workers and customers in a professional, courteous manner
Work in a fast paced environment
Assisting other coworkers and performing other duties as needed
Maintaining backyard
Supervising groups of dogs in play
REQUIREMENTS
Dog daycare or boarding background preferred. Some dog handling skills and comfortable with all breeds and sizes of dogs
Must be able to make quick and educated decisions when it comes to dog interaction.
Knowledge of general dog behavioral cues, indicators and health issues to watch for.
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
Must have strong communication skills
Be willing and able to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
High volume of cleaning up dog messes feces and kennels when required.
Cleaning, maintaining and sanitizing all pet enclosures, exercise yards, and common areas.
Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, loud barking and pet excretions
Must not be allergic to or afraid of cats or dogs.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to manage time well
Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds
Must have excellent interpersonal skills
Must possess a love of animals and patience when handling pets
Pay is based on experience
