Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires a love for animals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising.
Maintain cleanliness of kennels and surrounding areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff.
Support grooming and bathing of pets as required.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed while handling animals.
Maintain accurate records of animal care activities.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or skills in the following areas:
Veterinary technician or assistant experience is preferred.
Proficient in animal handling techniques and animal restraint methods.
Familiarity with kennel operations and pet care practices.
Experience in dog training or pet grooming is a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling large breeds or equipment.
Previous experience in pet sitting or related fields is advantageous.
